SUCCESS OF MEDITING 2009

MEDITING 2009 a compté sur une participation très diversifiée au niveau de thématiques ainsi qu’au niveau de nationalités. Un total de 61 jeunes chercheurs de pratiquement tous les pays du bassin méditerranéen et une partie d’Europe. (Maroc, Algérie, Tunisie, Lybie, Egypte, Palestine, Jordanie, Syrie, Bulgarie, Turquie, Grèce, Italie, France et Espagne parmi d’autres) ont présenté leurs communications distribuées en groups de travail thématiques. Les Chercheurs ont aussi discuté sur la Recherche en Méditerranée et les obstacles et problématiques du métier de chercheur.

Les organisateurs ont trouvé la Rencontre très fructueuse aussi bien pour la profondeur et la largeur du nombre de participants compte tenu des difficultés de caractère bureaucratique que l’organisation s’est retrouvé, ce qui a empêché la participation de plus d’une dizaine de candidats.

MEDITING 2009 a été aussi l’occasion pour lancer le Mediterranean Young Researchers Network siégée à la Chaire UNESCO de la URV, qui prétend faciliter le travail en réseau des jeunes chercheurs afin de dépasser les difficultés propres de l’exercice de la Recherche.

À la clôture s’est présenté le WOCMES Barcelone 2010, qui aura lieu à l’UAB et qui hébergera la III Rencontre de Jeunes Chercheurs autour de la Méditerranée.

MEDITING 2009 has counted on a very diverse participation regarding the subjects and nationalities. 61 young researchers from all around the Mediterranean (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France and Spain among others) have presented their papers in some thematic work groups. The Researchers have also discussed about the Research in the Mediterranean and the threats and problems they have to face as researchers.

The Organizers have found the Meeting very fruitful for the largeness of participant number and the depth of the debates. They consider the meeting was a success given the bureaucratic obstacles they have found. These problems have avoided the participation of at least 12 participants.

MEDITING 2009 has also been the opportunity to launch the Mediterranean Young Researchers Network, whose headquarters are held in the UNESCO Chair Office, located in Tarragona. This network will pretend to make easy the networking among the young researchers in order to let them deal with their own problems coming from the Research job.

At to Closing Ceremony, WOCMES Barcelona 2010 has been presented. This World Congress will be held in the UAB in Barcelona and it will be the framework of the 3rd MEETING OF YOUNG RESEARCHERS AROUND THE MEDITERRANEAN.
